The Place We Met is the ultimate missed connections APP. It's ideal for finding anyone from your past. It could be a friend from high school thirty years ago or a love interest you met at a coffee shop last week. The APP searches based on GPS location and date (or date-range).
Entering in a GPS location and date-range along with a short paragraph is all you need to do. You don't even have to know the name of the person you're looking for! The location can include a radius of up to 5 KM. It could be a fixed place like a coffee shop or a random location like the middle of a street festival.
To find a University friend, for example, you might use center campus as the GPS location and enter in a 1 KM radius to cover the entire grounds. GPS coordinates (latitude & longitude) are easily found for any location on Google Maps. See the tab below that says "Three Easy Steps" for detailed instructions on getting GPS coodinates.
The short paragraph helps narrow down matches if there are several for the location & date-range. The APP looks for identical words from both descriptions.
The location doesn't necessarily have to be where you FIRST met. It can be a location where you often hung out. If there are multiple locations, you can enter multiple searches.
The Place We met will notify you when you have a match and you can message through the APP. Note that two parties must BOTH be searching for each other.
Because of this, it's VITAL that you share this APP on social media OFTEN to help it go viral. Then the person you want to reach will hear about THE PLACE WE MET and you can reconnect. Click the link below for several images to share on social media!
He writes:
You were a barista at Starbucks back in 2018 when I came in every weekend. You told me you study psychology and that you love travel. You were planning a trip to Paris.
She Writes:
I worked at Starbucks when I was at University studying psychology. You came in quite a bit. I told you I was going to travel to Paris that summer.
Identical Words: (Starbucks, psychology, travel, Paris)
Only the matching words are displayed to each party. This is to maximize privacy, in case people include personal information like addresses or phone numbers in their
search paragraphs. Perhaps they both remember the address of where they met, or a phone number that existed at the time. The bottom line is that these won't be displayed to the other party unless they have the EXACT same text in their respective search paragraphs.
It's important to include as many SPECIFIC details as possible - things you talked about, names, etc. Some locations, like schools and concerts might generate a lot of matches. Similar descriptive words can be the key to narrowing down your search to the person you are looking for.
1) Login
2) Enter Date & Search Info
Enter the date (or date-range) when you met the person along with your search distance (radius). Your date-range might be the three years you went to high school (say you're looking for a high school buddy). Then enter a short descriptive paragraph (search info) that contains as many SPECIFIC details as possible. Use words that the person you want to find is also likely to enter. Specific details might include the names of people in your circle of friends, location names, addresses, favorite songs, movies, etc.
3) Enter Location
Once you've entered the date & search info, enter the location where you met. The system uses a GPS location and a distance (radius). For a friend you met at University, you could use the GPS location in the center of campus and select a distance (radius) of 1 KM so you cover the entire campus grounds. Click GET LOCATION from your search record and then INPUT GPS to bring up the form to enter GPS coordinates.
To get the GPS coordinates from Google Maps (maps.google.com) on a desktop or a laptop, simply right click on any location. A box appears with information and instructions for various things. The TOP item contains the GPS coordinates with the latitude on the left and the longitude on the right separated by a comma. If you click the coordinates they are stored in the clipboard and you can then paste them into your search record.
On a portable device, hold your finger on the point on the map you want the location for. A pin will appear. Zoom in as much as you can on the pin and then hold your finger on the pin again and the GPS coordinates will appear. Cut and paste them into your search record. IMPORTANT: If there is a minus sign before the coordinates, make sure you include it. Also, make sure you verify the coordinates typed in by clicking VIEW MAP from your search record.
You might find it easier to initially copy BOTH the latitude & longitude coordinates into the latitude field and then cut the longitude portion (to the right of the comma) and paste it into the longitude field. Don't worry about the comma, our software will strip it out.
Note that you can easily capture your CURRENT location through the APP if that's where you met someone. A simple instruction appears after you click GET LOCATION.
It's easy to test THE PLACE WE MET!
1) Create two test accounts.
Use emails ending in @tpwm.com (as in The Place We Met). Our system recognizes emails ending in @tpwm.com as test accounts, so there's no need to receive emails and click a verification link. For example, create two accounts with the test emails: myname1@tpwm.com, myname2@tpwm.com. Note that test accounts are deleted after a few days.
2) Create a new search on each account.
Creating a search is relatively easy. See the instructions on the tab above that says "Three Easy Steps."
An excellent test is if you input locations for the two records that are about a kilometer apart. Initially, set the search radius on each record to something small, like 2/10 of a kilometer. You will notice that the records are not a match because they are too far apart. Keep on increasing the search radius on each record until you see they are a match. If you change the dates on a record, you will also see they no longer match if there is no overlap on the dates. This is a quick way to confirm that THE PLACE WE MET is capable of matching people INSTANTLY when the date-range and location of two records overlap.
In a real-life search on The Place We Met both parties instantly receive an email to notify them that a match has been found. They could then message through the system and exchange contact info, if they wish.
The Place We Met can help you find anyone from your past. It doesn't matter how long ago it was. The date-range can be as big as you want it to be. The distance (radius from central point) can be up to 5 KM. However, note that a larger date-range and/or distance (radius) might generate a large number of matches. Identical words help narrow down matches.
The Place We Met can't help you find somebody that doesn't want to be found. Both parties MUST be looking for each other. The plus side to this is that the APP CANNOT be used to stalk somebody.
Because BOTH parties must be looking for each other, you need to make sure the party you wish to reconnect with knows about THE PLACE WE MET. Please click the link below to find several images to post on social media to help this APP go viral. Share often!
THE PLACE WE MET will find a match IMMEDIATELY after somebody enters in a GPS location and date-range combination that corresponds with an existing record in the database.
Keep in mind that it could take days, weeks, months or even years after you put in a search request until the person you are looking for also decides they also want to find you. Within seconds after they enter their search data you will receive an email notifying you of the match. There's no need to continuously login and check for matches, although it doesn't hurt to check periodically just in case you miss our email.
You will match faster if the person you want to reconnect with knows about THE PLACE WE MET. Help this APP go viral by sharing every day!
No. The Place We Met CANNOT be used for stalking. It only connects two people if BOTH of them want to connect. Once connected, the system doesn't EVER give out any information whatsoever. It allows the parties to message through the system only. If they wish to exchange contact information, they can. The system gives out ZERO information. The party you match with can't even read the descriptive paragraph you enter in. It simply shows them any IDENTICAL matching words from both of your paragraphs.
Important!
We want to make it very clear that THE PLACE WE MET does not track locations. It simply allows users to enter the GPS coordinates of WHERE THEY MET somebody in the past. At no time does the APP track the location or movement of users.
Is there someone out there that wants to find you? Is there an old girlfriend or boyfriend that’s still pining for you? Is there someone that you used to work with that would like to reconnect with? It’s easy to find out by entering a search on various locations. You might consider setting up a search on the locations of schools you’ve attended, places you worked at, etc. Setting up a search on THE PLACE WE MET is Fast & Easy.
After entering your search, you might be immediately surprised to find that somebody is already looking for and just found you! If not, there is really nothing you have to do, except wait to see who else discovers THE PLACE WE MET and decides to search for you. You could log in periodically just to be sure you didn’t miss an email informing you of a match. But, other than that, no further effort is needed on your end.
Take a few minutes to consider this question: If there is someone out there wishing to reconnect with you, who would it likely be?
The Place We Met can be used to connect with someone that you're romantically interested in. Suppose there's someone that goes to the same coffee shop or gym as you or hangs out at the same bar or pub. If you BOTH put in a request to connect, the system will match you. If they're not interested, they'll never know that you were looking. There is ZERO chance of rejection!
But, they need to know about THE PLACE WE MET to make sure the two of you connect. Click the link below to find an image to share on social media and help the APP go viral. Share often!
You can use The Place We Met to help organize a high school or ANY type of reunion. Track down witnesses to an accident. Reunite with somebody you met at summer camp or in the chaos of a natural disaster. Find somebody you chatted briefly with on a street corner or in the middle of a steet festival ten years ago! You could track down someone you met at a refugee camp during times of war. The possibilities are truly endless!
But, for reconnections to take place, it's VITAL that the person you are trying to reconnect with knows about THE PLACE WE MET. If everybody shares on social media, word will spread QUICKLY, and you will reconnect. Please click on the link below and share one of the images from that page. Share often!
Please share to spread awareness about THE PLACE WE MET. On a desktop or laptop, simply right-click and copy an image and then paste it onto any social media platform. On a portable device touch the image for a few seconds until share options appear. If the APP you want to share on appears, you should be able to post directly. Otherwise, it might be easier to copy and paste the image or save it to your device before sharing. Reconnect sooner by sharing often!
Malcolm Gladwell, in his top-selling book THE TIPPING POINT, explains how it's often the so called "super-spreaders" that are instrumental in helping trends catch on. With enough super-spreaders it's very likely that the person you want to reach will soon hear about THE PLACE WE MET and you will be able to reconnect. Become a super-spreader and reconnect faster by sharing everyday! For more social-media images to share, please click the link below.

Would you like to reconnect with someone you met at a Concert?
Simply enter in the date of the concert, the GPS location of the arena, & a short paragraph. Include specific details to narrow down matches. For example, specify where your seats were, what you talked about, etc. If it was a Taylor Swift concert, you might describe the friendship bracelets you exchanged. Use a search radius of at least half a kilometer to make sure you cover the whole arena. If you met outside the arena, increase your search radius enough to make sure the place you met is within that radius.
Post on Facebook fan pages for the artist to let people know they can find other fans using THE PLACE WE MET. Posting and sharing OFTEN will help this APP go viral so the person you want to reconnect with hears about THE PLACE WE MET and submits a search for you!
THE PLACE WE MET is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. To boost our local economy, we encourage enthusiastic fans of any artist to organize a fan reunion here. Although it’s unlikely TS will attend, she will be invited. Calgary will complete construction of a brand-new arena in 2027 and we're sure Calgary would LOVE to invite Taylor to be the first artist to perform in the new arena during a fan reunion!
Check back often & we will update with any news of this potential initiative.

Do you want to reconnect with somebody you met at a hockey game?
It doesn't matter how long ago you met, you can now reconnect with somebody you met at ANY hockey arena on earth! All you need to do is start a new searh and punch in the GPS location of the arena. Because hockey arenas are big, make your search radius at least half a kilometer. Enter in the date you met and a short paragraph, which is used to narrow down matches if there are several for your location/date combination.
Not sure exactly what date it was? No problem! You can enter a date-range. Maybe all you remember is that you met somebody at a Las Vegas Golden Knights game sometime in January, 2023. Enter a date-range of Jan 1 - Jan 31. Make sure you enter lots of specific details about your meeting. That way, you can narrow them down with the wordmatch combination between you and your matches.
Make sure the person you want to reach knows about THE PLACE WE MET. Share one of our social media images every day to help make your reunion happen. With people everywhere sharing, the word will get out quickly. Click the link below for images you can share.

THE PLACE WE MET is ideal for helping you to track people down for a reunion. For example, if you're organizing a high school reunion, we recommend contacting your local media to let them them know that you're using THE PLACE WE MET and that alumni should enter a search based on the GPS location of their high school and the date-range of when they attended.
They should include their name (including maiden names & alternate spellings) in the search paragraph and the phrase HIGH SCHOOL REUNION.
The reunion organizer only needs to enter a SINGLE search that includes the phrase HIGH SCHOOL REUNION and a list of all the names of people they wish to track down. They should also include alternate spellings of names to ensure the greatest number of matches.
The more media mentions of THE PLACE WE MET, the easier it will be for future organizers to find people for ANY type of reunion!
Share on social media OFTEN to help this APP go viral. It will make organizing any reunion easier! Click the link below for several images you can share.

Did you meet somebody on a ski lift?
It happens all the time. You meet some attractive stranger on a ski lift and you have a great connection. As they're skiing away, you wish you'd had the courage to ask them for their contact info or to connect on social media.
Here's some great news: Now you can reconnect with that beautiful stranger! Simply login to THE PLACE WE MET and enter a search using the GPS coordinates of some key locations on the ski hill and the date you met. Don't remember the exact date? Enter a date-range! You think it might have been February 15th or February 17th? Why not just enter February 1 - 28? You can do that with THE PLACE WE MET! And it doesn't matter how long ago it was, you can still reconnect.
Our 5 KM search radius limit isn't big enough to cover most ski hills. The convention for reconnecting with people you met on a ski lift (or anywhere on a ski hill) is to input the GPS coordinates of the main entrance and the biggest ski lodge on the premises. If you really want to be safe, you could enter several searches that include all ski lodges and any other logical locations, like a muster point, etc. At some point, we'll make it easier so can just punch in the name of a ski hill and the date. This is just our first MVP. LOTS of new features will be coming on board.
The most important thing is to make sure that beautiful stranger also puts in a search to find you. THE PLACE WE MET only works if BOTH parties are searching. Help this APP go viral so that cutie learns about THE PLACE WE MET and also puts in a search for YOU. Why not share every day? Click the link below for more social media images to share.

There are potentially millions of people on earth that met someone on an airplane and wish they had exchanged social media or other contact information with them.
Finally, there’s a quick and easy way to reconnect with that beautiful stranger! Simply enter the date you travelled and the GPS location of the DEPARTING airport into THE PLACE WE MET. If you really want to be sure you will reconnect, you could enter two different searches, one using the GPS location of the airport where you departed and one using the GPS location of where you arrived. If there was any stopovers, you could enter a search for those locations as well. However, we will encourage people to keep things simple and just use the location where you depart from.
Not sure of the exact date? No problem, simply enter a date-range. For example, if you don’t know if the flight was on December 12 or December 17, you could enter a date-range of December 1 – December 31 to be safe. If you’re not even sure what year it was, you could enter a date-range that spans several years.
If you use a bigger date-range, the paragraph you enter becomes more important. Include as many details as possible about what you talked about, etc. You could also enter the seat numbers where you sat, if you remember them. Were you close to the front or back of the plane?
The same convention should be used for other types of travel, like trains, boats, etc. Always use the point of departure as the GPS location for the purposes of your search.
We sincerely hope you will reconnect with that awesome stranger! To be sure it happens, please post the image above or one of our other social media images OFTEN to spread the word about THE PLACE WE MET. As more and more people post and re-post, it’s only a matter of time before you reconnect with that person you met on flight number 124!
Film sets are a classic example of where THE PLACE WE MET is needed. Film work can be very sporadic, with lots of hours spent on set in a short period of time. During those hours, you start to get to know your fellow film workers, actors, extras, etc.
Frequently, actors or extras are sent home before they get a chance to exchange contact information with others. Those involved with a specific scene are often wrapped (sent home) with little or no notice when their scene is completed, or when the crew is finished filming from a certain angle.
To compound matters, film sets are often located in remote areas that aren’t easily defined by street addresses. In these situations, we recommend that you start entering a search BEFORE you leave the film set.
All you really need to do before you leave is create a search record and make sure you capture your current location. It’s EXTREMELY easy to do! Simply click the link in your search record that says GET LOCATION and then the link that says FROM DEVICE. Allow the APP to get ONE TIME access to your current location and you’re done! In some cases, you might have to go into your settings to tell your device to allow APPS to have access to your location when needed.
We want to emphasize that THE PLACE WE MET DOES NOT track your location. It simply accesses your location ONE TIME when you allow it to in order to capture the coordinates for your search.
Do you sing? If you like, help us get the word out about THE PLACE WE MET by recording and posting your own version of our song! Click the link below for a WAV file of our song without vocals.
Are you in a band or do you play a musical instrument? Why not create your own arrangement of THE PLACE WE MET song? It's been copyrighted and we give you permission to create your own version, as long as you aren't using it to make money.
If you want to reconnect with that cute girl or guy (or new friend) that you met on a film set, as always, we need to emphasize how important it is for you to share share share THE PLACE WE MET to social media. With lots of people everywhere sharing, it's only a matter of time until THE PLACE WE MET is widely known and you can easily connect with people you met on a film set.
Click the link below and find a different social media image every day to share.
You might even want to create your own social media images to share. Assuming you're in the film business, why not talk about THE PLACE WE MET on your Tik Tok live or your VLOG? Why not create your own funny little videos to help spread the word while also exercising your acting muscles?
The population of homeless shelters is ever-shifting and often transitory. New people move into shelter as others find housing or decide to sleep on the street. The bottom line is that many people that have stayed in a shelter have lost touch with someone they met there.
THE PLACE WE MET will be free of charge for people that lost connection with someone while staying in a homeless shelter. It will be very easy to waive fees. Users will simply type in the name of the shelter and enter in the GPS location. See detailed instructions on how to get GPS coordinates from Google Maps under the tab above that says THREE EASY STEPS.
If you really want to reconnect with the person you met in shelter, it’s VITAL that you share this APP as often as possible. The more people that keep on sharing this APP repeatedly, the sooner the person you are looking for hears about and signs up to reconnect with you.
After a payment system is in place THE PLACE WE MET will be free of charge for displaced populations. For example, those affected by events like war and various natural disasters will have free access. At the end of 2023, the number of forcibly displaced people worldwide was estimated at 117.3 million according to the United Nations High Commissioner For Refugees (UNHCR). Almost 1.5% of the world's population has been displaced! Click the link below to learn more about this growing problem.
What you see is the very first Minimum Viable Product (MVP) version of The Place We Met. There are, literally, dozens of planned new features. Here are just a few:
There is a complete front-end makeover planned in late 2025 or early 2026.
There will be feature where users can simply type in the name of a location in some cases, instead of using GPS coordinates.
Businesses and organizations will get an opportunity to have their own promtional page that also highlights how many connections have been made at their locations. Reporting systems will recognize the top locations for making connections, likely focusing heavily on bars & restaurants. Reports will also show comparisons between different countries, states/provinces, cities & even neighborhoods in terms of connections made through the APP.
Many features will be added that focus on specialized functions like organizing reunions, finding lost pets, lost & found services, etc.
A payment system is also in the works. Currently, it's free of charge. However, we are accepting donations. Keep in mind that donations help us promote The Place We Met so that the person you're trying to connect with also hears about it. If you're serious about connecting, please support!
We are currently looking for investors. We believe The Place We Met has incredible potential to go viral. It's the ultimate missed connections APP and will become very profitable once word gets out around the globe. For more info contact us at 403-463-2004 or click the contact tab on the main menu. We will be happy to send out information outlining your potential profits.
There is a feature film script in development about two people that reconnect using the APP (Called The Place We Met, of course). We are actively looking for a producing partner or company that will buy or option the script. The film's theme song will also help drive awareness and publicity. To see a short proof-of-concept video for the film, click the link below.
As the credits roll on THE PLACE WE MET film, this is the song that will be playing. With the combination of an APP, a book, a movie and a song, we believe THE PLACE WE MET will have its fifteen minutes of fame. As such, we see the possibility that this song will be a minor hit. Keep in mind that the two versions on the site right now are just the first demo versions.
Click the link below for a stripped down piano version, the type of arrangement that might be used for a live performance of the song.
Do you work for an airline? Please let your manager know that THE PLACE WE MET is looking for an airline to sponsor our movie. We’re finding it difficult to find a method to contact management at most airlines and we’re hoping that somebody will help us make a connection.
We believe that there might be a mini travel boom once THE PLACE WE MET goes viral. There could potentially be millions of people that want to travel to meet with someone they reconnected with through this APP. There will be many happy stories of reunification worldwide, which will translate into lots of goodwill towards the airline that helped make it happen by sponsoring our movie.
